A shared blog enterprise designed to improve the photography of Alan Bulley in Canada and Patrick Dodds (logging in as f1point8 – don’t ask me why, I’ve a history of mucking up my sign-in names but there you are) in the UK. The current theme was chosen by:

Patrick

Note that Patrick and Alan have never met in meatspace though we have been getting to know one another in the virtual world (mainly flickr, some facebook, a bit of blogger) for a while now. For those of you who haven’t read our first post on 5000k, essentially we are attempting a joint blog enterprise with weekly (ish) challenges in order to try and improve our photography both by giving us a rationale for picking up our cameras and through the nature of the challenges themselves which are designed to stretch our shooting skills. This blog gets its name both from the physical distance between Alan and myself and from the approximate colour temperature of daylight (Alan – you want I should change the spelling of colour? Or is English English OK as opposed to N. American???).

“Colour” is just fine with me. You might be surprised to hear it, but Canadians distinguish between American, UK and Canadian spelling. Situated in the Anglosphere between two empires (the former and the current), we have our own spelling and style. I’ll be using Canadian spelling but am able to operate in American and UK English. I also speak French. 😉
